In only 6 years the popularity of The Static Monsters has seen unprecedented growth in the sport of Strongman. It all began in November 2015 with one strongman push/pull competition, held on the Gold Coast, Australia, 25 competitors taking part in the events, max log press and max Tractor Wheel deadlift. In its second year, 3 countries were involved with 9 separate events all running simultaneously using standardised equipment, scoring, and rules. 2017 saw 29 events in 9 countries, to 2019’s worldwide event where over 700 people from 19 countries were involved.
With the amazing growth and popularity of The Static Monsters, there was one clear choice to bring this competition to the next stage in its evolution; in 2018, the very first Static Monsters World Championships was held on the Gold Coast, Australia, with the best international lifters being invited to compete head to head. Returning again for 2019, it was bigger and better (plus stronger!!!). Sadly the 2020 and 2021 World Championships had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
The Static Monsters World Championships for 2022 will be held in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
